HUNTINGTON BEACH WETLANDS CONSERVANCY
Year: 2020
The Huntington Beach Wetlands Conservancy (HBWC) is a dedicated community-based group of private citizens founded in 1985 with a shared mission: to preserve and protect the precious wetlands of Huntington Beach. As a California non-profit, tax-exempt public benefit corporation, the Conservancy brings together a diverse Board of Directors, contributors, and volunteers from various occupations and backgrounds.

Inspired by the impactful work of the Wetlands Conservancy, my goal was to create results that highlight the significance of conserving our natural habitat while adhering to modern design standards and appealing to a younger audience.

The logo of the HBWC serves as a representation of the pressing challenges faced by the Wetlands, including soil degradation and the potential extinction of various plant and animal species. Within the logo, the distressed portrayal of the word "wetlands" and a leaf symbolizes the urgency of the situation, while incorporating a range of plants and animals along its borders, further emphasizing the diverse and interconnected nature of the ecosystem.
